Costa ushered in a new era of elegance at sea with the Costa Fortuna. Just as the “Holistic Holiday At Sea™ - Voyage To Well Being” is not a typical vacation cruise, the new eco-friendly Costa Fortuna is not a typical cruise ship. The Costa Fortuna is an Italian masterpiece. Combining the Old World sophistication of European design with state-of-the-art American comforts and conveniences, at 890 feet in length and 124 feet in width, the Costa Fortuna is one the largest ships to ever fly the Italian flag. She cruises the Caribbean and Mediterranean in a class all her own. And so will you.

At a cost of approximately $600 million, the Costa Fortuna is a floating palace with every amenity offered for the enjoyment of her guests. The finest designers and architects spared neither effort nor expense in creating this extraordinary cruise liner. She is most noted for her extraordinary interiors with 5,000 works of art and the detail and craftsmanship of her elegant furnishings.

Costa Fortuna has drawn inspiration from the grand Italian steamships of yesteryear that provided regular passenger services between Italy and the Americas. Throughout this Costa cruise ship, scale models of historic cruise ships have been incorporated into the style and design of the Costa Fortuna’s various restaurants and other public areas. For more recent history of these cruise ships, guests can view a tribute to the first (and leading) Italian Cruise Company by glancing up at the ceiling of the main lobby known as the Costa Atrium where models of 26 past members of the Costa fleet are displayed.

The Fortuna offers a stunning array of amenities that impart a mysterious and elegant quality. Holistic Holiday at Sea guests will dine in the spacious and elegant Michelangelo restaurant adorned with reproductions of Michelangelo’s frescoes on the ceiling and featuring a 19 ft. scale model of the transatlantic liner, the Michelangelo, at the entrance. More of the ship’s most defining features include a towering, 9-story domed atrium with glass elevators; a children’s splash pool, a central salt water pool, and an aft salt water pool where guests can swim in any weather thanks to a retractable magrodome roof; 2 magnificent split-level restaurants; self service buffet; specialty restaurant; pizzeria; 1300 person capacity theater extending over three decks; 2 story disco; 11 lounges; an internet café and casino. Another one of the highlights onboard the Costa Fortuna is the spacious wellness area, equipped with an ultramodern gym overlooking the sea as well as Turkish bath and other beauty treatments.
