Macrobiotics 101 Lecture Series
Whether you are just starting macrobiotics or have been practicing for many years, you will benefit from the ideas presented in this 2-part series of classes. They are designed to clarify some of the key aspects of practicing macrobiotics and help you get the most out of your effort.

Lecture 1: Macrobiotics 101 Part 1
Why is Macrobiotics not just another vegetarian diet? The number of people embracing the macrobiotic way of life has grown steadily over the years due in large part to the benefits so many people have received. The image that macrobiotics has had of just being a brown rice, miso soup and steamed kale diet has also shifted as well. There are numerous unique aspects to the macrobiotic approach that make it so effective in promoting health and harmony in day to day life. Warren will clarify those distinctions in this first lecture comparing macrobiotics to the vegetarian diet.

Lecture 2: Macrobiotics 101 Part 2
"I thought I was healthy!" Understanding how illness develops from a macrobiotic perspective. We don't go from one day being healthy to the next day having a chronic or degenerative illness. All illness follows an orderly progression that is important to understand in order for us to guide our own lives. Many people truly feel that they are health conscious and are in touch with their bodies yet struggle with their health. At the foundation of macrobiotic healing is this understanding of what is health and how illness progresses. Understanding these principles we have the tools to create our health and a dynamic life.

Lecture 3: What do Yin & Yang have to do with me?
Yin and Yang are the complementary and antagonistic forces or qualities found in all objects and processes in the universe. The application of this fundamental principle can make balancing our daily lives that much easier. Warren will lead a fun, thought provoking, interactive lecture and discussion where we look at many ways yin and yang can be seen in our own daily lives.

Lecture 4: Straight Bowel Talk
Everything you wanted to know about healthy elimination and more! The process of life is taking in and getting rid of what we don't use or need. If we can't eliminate what we don't utilize, health problems develop that are both physical and emotional in nature. We will discuss what in fact we "consume" day to day, diagnosing digestive problems, what is healthy and normal elimination, as well as food, remedies and self healing techniques to improve digestion.

Lecture 5: Cooking For Life - The Art of Macrobiotic Cooking
It is widely agreed upon that food has a tremendous impact on our health and ultimately our life. Cooking is something that either most people just don't do anymore or it is the five-minute meal in the microwave oven. At the same time, there are numerous misconceptions about cooking. A common one is that cooking destroys nutrition. The truth is that proper cooking enhances our ability to absorb the nutrition from our food. Warren will discuss the many dimensions to cooking, common mistakes people make in cooking, various cooking styles and their impact on nutrition and our well-being. You will gain a better understanding of why we call cooking an art form.

Individual consultations are available by appointment: $350 per person
